Alan Ritchson (Reacher) is trading in his nomadic vigilante persona for a gritty revenge quest in the newly released trailer for Motor City, an action thriller set against the backdrop of 1970s Detroit. Directed by Potsy Ponciroli (Greedy People), the film follows a wrongfully imprisoned man who emerges from prison with vengeance on his mind.
The trailer showcases Ritchson as John Miller, a working-class romantic whose life is shattered after he’s framed by a ruthless gangster. After spending years behind bars, Miller returns to Detroit determined to settle the score with those responsible for destroying his future. Along the way, the film unleashes a barrage of brutal brawls, explosive shootouts, and high-octane car chases, teasing a throwback action spectacle steeped in 1970s grit.
Joining Ritchson is an impressive supporting cast that includes Shailene Woodley (Paradise), Ben Foster (Christy), and Pablo Schreiber (Halo). The film is based on a screenplay by Chad St. John and has already generated buzz for its unconventional storytelling approach, reportedly featuring very little dialogue while relying heavily on visual storytelling and action.
Following its debut at the Venice Film Festival, Motor City is set to hit theaters on July 24th. For fans of Ritchson’s work on the hit TV series Reacher, the trailer promises another physically demanding role that leans into the actor’s imposing screen presence while delivering a revenge thriller packed with old-school action movie energy.
