Legendary director Tsui Hark (Once Upon a Time in China) is back with the film adaptation of the classic wuxia Legends of the Condor Heroes: The Gallants.
Synopsis: Under Genghis Khan, the Mongolian army pushes west to destroy the Jin Dynasty, setting its sights on the Song Dynasty next. Amid internal conflicts among martial arts schools, Guo Jing unites the Central Plains’ warriors to defend Xiangyang, embodying courage and loyalty in the fight for the nation.
Based on a section of the novel of the same name by writer Louis Cha, the film stars Xiao Zhan (Monster Hunt) as Guo Jing and Zhuang Dafei (Be My Friend) as Huang Rong. Rounding out the cast are Tony Leung Ka-fai (Cold War), Zhang Wenxin, Bayaertu (Creation of the Gods I: Kingdom of Storms), Aruna, and Ada Choi (Fist of Legend).
Legends of the Condor Heroes: The Gallants is set for release in select U.S. theaters on February 21st.
