UPDATE: Armour of God IV: Ultimatum is set to start production this July across Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan.
The new installment marks a major shift for the long-running action-adventure saga. Not only will it be Jackie Chan’s first production filmed in Central Asia, but it also represents the first Armour of God movie backed primarily outside the traditional Hong Kong and Chinese studio system. The film is being produced by Salem Entertainment with support from Kazakhstan’s Alem Fund, an initiative designed to elevate the region’s film industry onto the global stage.
Directed by Robert Kun, Armour of God IV: Ultimatum follows Asian Hawk as he’s pulled into another globe-trotting race for a mysterious ancient artifact known as the Tumar — a relic carrying a bounty reportedly worth more than $20 million.
Chan hinted that the project could open the door to more collaborations in the region, saying Kazakhstan offers “new visual and creative ideas” he has never explored before.
If all goes according to plan, Armour of God IV: Ultimatum will hit theaters worldwide in the second quarter of 2027.

UPDATE: Robert Kun, an actor and stunt coordinator from Kazakhstan, is set to take the helm for Armour of God IV: Ultimatum. Personally selected by Jackie Chan, Kun has over 20 years of experience doing stunt work for such high-profile projects like Wanted, Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter, Ben-Hur, and Major Grom: The Game. The project is targeted to start production in Spring 2026.
Martial arts legend Jackie Chan (Karate Kid: Legends) is gearing up to swing back into action with Armour of God IV: Ultimatum, the latest installment of his beloved martial arts adventure franchise. The Hong Kong legend is set to reprise his role in what promises more high-flying stunts, kung-fu chaos, and classic Chan humor.
While plot details remain under wraps, the film is expected to lean into what has made the series a fan favorite: globe-trotting adventure, daring rescue missions, and a blend of gritty danger and comedy. Ultimatum looks primed to deliver on all fronts—fist fights, weapon work, and Chan’s signature physicality.
Production is reportedly targeting Hong Kong for many action set-pieces and scenic backdrops, tapping into the locales that helped make earlier Armour of God films such beloved martial arts staples.
Stay tuned as more casting, director, and release date info emerges. For now, one thing’s certain: Jackie Chan fans have good reasons to be excited.
