Jason Statham To Star In David Leitch’s Action Comedy Jason Statham Stole My Bike

Action star Jason Statham (Shelter) is teaming up again with director David Leitch (The Fall Guy) on a high-profile, big-budget action-comedy titled Jason Statham Stole My Bike, which is now making the rounds at the European Film Market in Berlin as a major new package for buyers.

Set to be directed by Leitch — known for blockbuster and crowd-pleasing hits — the film casts Statham as a fictionalized version of himself, described as “a global action superstar,” in what insiders are calling “the role of a lifetime.”

Although plot specifics haven’t been revealed yet, the movie is being positioned as a tongue-in-cheek, meta action-comedy with a reported budget north of $80 million and an expected PG-13 rating. Production is planned to begin in May 2026, with the screenplay written by BoJack Horseman alum Alison Flierl.

The project reunites Statham with Leitch after their work together on Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw and is being sold internationally by Black Bear Pictures, which is also handling domestic distribution. Leitch is producing alongside Kelly McCormick for 87 North, with Statham producing under his Punch Palace banner, and additional producers including John Friedberg, Meredith Berg, and Ethan Erwin.

The film does not yet have a release date, but interest is already building among international buyers at the market.
