Netflix is expanding its Extraction franchise with a new action-packed series starring Omar Sy (The Killer). This marks the latest move by the streamer to build interconnected film and TV universes around its original hits.
The eight-episode series, produced by Joe and Anthony Russo’s AGBO, will be helmed by executive producer and showrunner Glen Mazzara (The Walking Dead).
Set within the adrenaline-fueled world of Extraction, the yet-to-be-titled show follows Sy as a skilled mercenary on a perilous mission to rescue hostages in Libya. Caught between violent factions and relentless killers, the series dives into the complex emotional struggles of its characters — exploring themes of trauma, betrayal, and the harrowing weight of life-or-death decisions.
Alongside Mazzara, executive producers include Anthony Russo, Joe Russo, Angela Russo-Otstot, Scott Nemes, and Chris Castaldi for AGBO, as well as franchise director Sam Hargrave, Eric Gitter, and Peter Schwerin.
With Sy leading the cast and the Russo brothers guiding the project, the series promises to deliver the same heart-pounding action and intense drama that made Extraction a global success.
