Hong Kong martial arts legend Sammo Hung (Twilight of the Warriors: Walled In) is back in the fight with Go For Broke 2 (aka Rebirth 2), the upcoming action thriller from writer, director and star Marc Ma Yuhe (Shock Wave 2).
Serving as a thematic follow-up to Ma’s 2024 crime thriller Go For Broke (aka Rebirth), the sequel centers on Xila and Su Cheng, two parents whose children become victims of abuse. Their search for answers eventually brings them together as they uncover a much larger criminal conspiracy.
What begins as a personal quest quickly escalates into a dangerous battle against a web of corruption. As Xila and Su Cheng dig deeper into the truth, they are forced to confront their own painful pasts while pursuing justice—and revenge.
Hung leads an impressive ensemble that includes Isabella Leong, Wen Junhui, Bai Ke, Alan Aruna, Wang Longzheng, Casper Chu, Danny Chan Kwok Kuen, and Liu Yuze. Wen Junhui, who recently appeared in The Shadow’s Edge, plays Su Cheng, while Leong takes on the role of Xila.
The original Go For Broke, starring Nick Cheung and Ethan Juan, became a commercial success in China, earning approximately $65 million at the box office. Go For Broke 2 looks to continue that crime-action formula with a darker and more personal story.
Go For Broke 2 is set for release in select U.S. theaters on October 23rd from CMC Pictures and Maoyan Entertainment.
