“Elizabeth Banks directs the next generation of Angels – Kristen Stewart, Naomi Scott, and Ella Balinska – working for the mysterious Charles Townsend. Charlie’s Angels have always provided security and investigative skills to private clients, and now the Townsend Agency has expanded internationally, with the smartest, most fearless, most highly trained women all over the globe – multiple teams of Angels guided by multiple Bosleys taking on the toughest jobs across the world. When a young systems engineer blows the whistle on a dangerous technology, these Angels are called into action, putting their lives on the line to protect us all. The screenplay is by Elizabeth Banks from a story by Evan Spiliotopoulos and David Auburn.”

Regarding the more “grounded” action style of the film, director Elizabeth Banks stated: “I wanted to make them distinct from superheroes, aliens, and mythological creatures that are in a lot of action movies now.” She continued by comparing it to the Mission: Impossible franchise, “We talked a lot about [those movies]. Those films work best when the team is together, when Ving Rhames is in it, and Simon [Pegg] is in it, and Rebecca Ferguson. That sensibility really matters to me.”
Charlie’s Angels hits theaters November 15, 2019.
UPDATE: Veteran actor PATRICK STEWART (X-Men) will be joing the cast to play “Bosley”. According to The Hollywood Reporter there will be multiple “Bosley” in the film with Elizabeth Banks playing another “Bosley”.
A release date for ‘Charlie’s Angels’ is targeted for September 27th, 2019.
UPDATE: Kristen Steward recently spoke to THE HOLLYWOOD REPORTER and revealed that she has already started the physical training:
“I have been boxing a bit, which I have never done. I am so addicted to it. As soon as I have to actually start sparring though, I realize what I am doing is intended to fight people. I am like, it really is assaulting and I really hate it. But all I am doing lately is talking to (Elizabeth Banks)Liz, and can’t wait to meet the other girls and I leave on Sunday … gonna start doing more fight training, getting more aggressive quite soon.”
She added: “We are not trying to do an impression of the last one…The re-imagining is so grounded and well intentioned and really shows the way women can work together now. It tries to be warm and funny, but it lacks a kitch element that we have seen before that works so well.”
UPDATE: The final cast for the CHARLIE’S ANGELS reboot has been confirmed with British actress ELLA BALINSKA (TV’s Midsomer Murders) as the third “angel”. She is joined by the previously announced Naomi Scott and Kristen Stewart. The reboot follows the “three badass agents embarking on a new mission for The Townsend Agency, whose ever-increasing client base has called for the organization to go global, providing security and intelligence services to a variety of private clients with offices and highly trained teams worldwide”.
