Extraction (2020) franchise director Sam Hargrave is set to helm a live-action adaptation of SEGA’s classic Ninja video game Shinobi for Universal Pictures.
From a script by Ken Kobayashi (Sunny, Move On), the original 1987 video game follows Joe Musashi, a modern-day ninja who confronts great evil.
Marc Platt and Adam Siegel will serve as producers via Marc Platt Productions alongside Dmitri M. Johnson through Story Kitchen and Toru Nakahara for Sega. Mike Goldberg will executive produce alongside Timothy I. Stevenson, who is co-producing.
