Charlize Theron (The Old Guard) made her debut in the Fast & Furious franchise back in 2017’s The Fate of the Furious as cyberterrorist Cipher and also returned as the character in F9: The Fast Saga. We may even see her again in Fast 10 and 11, the final two installments of the franchise.
But that may not be the last of Cipher. According to Variety leading man Vin Diesel has writers developing a Fast & Furious spin-off that will focus on Theron’s character.
As the series eventually conclude with Fast 11, spin-offs are a given as the studio’s way of keeping the franchise alive. Along with the Cipher project, a sequel to the box office hit Hobbs & Shaw starring Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham is also in development.
It would not be surprising if other characters from the Fast Family eventually get the spin-off treatment as well.
