UPDATE: Director JJ Perry just revealed the all-star ensemble cast that will be joining Dave Bautista in The Killer’s Game! The cast includes Sofia Boutella (Rebel Moon), Ben Kingsley (Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings), Pom Klementieff (Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning Part One), Ice Cube (The High Note), Scott Adkins (John Wick Chapter 4), WWE star Drew McIntyre, Shaina West (The Woman King), Lucy Cork (Black Widow), Daniel Bernhardt (Extraction 2), Lee Hoon (The Love is Coming) and Marko Zaror (Fist of the Condor).

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.3 star Dave Bautista (Knock at the Cabin) has signed on to take the lead in the action comedy The Killer’s Game.

The film will be helmed by stunt coordinator turned director JJ Perry (Day Shift) and is based on a novel by Jay Bonansinga. The plot follows a veteran assassin Joe Flood (Bautista), who is diagnosed with a life-threatening illness and authorizes a kill on himself to avoid the pain that is destined to follow. After ordering the kill, he finds out that he was misdiagnosed and must then fend off the army of former colleagues trying to kill him.

Bautista will also serve as executive producer alongside Jonathan Meisner for Dogbone Entertainment. Mad Chance’s Andrew Lazar will produce with Steve Richards for Endurance Media, which is financing the project, as well as Kia Jam.

“We are so thrilled to be making The Killer’s Game with Lionsgate and Endurance. We have searched far and wide and we finally found the perfect Joe Flood in Dave Bautista, who balances compelling action and incredible comic timing better than anyone else. And with JJ Perry at the helm, we know this film will deliver the kind of wholly original and unique action that global audiences crave,” said Mad Chance’s Lazar.

Additional casting is currently underway, with production set to start rolling this summer
