Milla Jovovich (Resident Evil franchise) is back in full combat mode. The first trailer for Protector, a gritty, high-stakes revenge-thriller, has dropped — and it casts the action veteran as a mother and former war hero who goes all-in when her daughter is kidnapped.
In Protector, Jovovich’s character Nikki thought she’d left her violent past behind to build a peaceful life with her daughter, Chloe. But when Chloe is abducted by a human-trafficking ring, Nikki is thrust into a ruthless underworld, hunted by criminals — and even the police and military. That kicks off a brutal, no-holds-barred rescue mission.
The film is directed by Adrián Grünberg (Rambo: Last Blood), a filmmaker with a solid track record for raw, grounded violence — and Protector looks like it won’t hold back.
Supporting Jovovich is a cast including Matthew Modine (Stranger Things) and D.B. Sweeney (Taken 2), among others, adding a bit of veteran credibility to what promises to be a gritty, emotional, and intense ride.
Protector is currently slated to hit theaters on February 20, 2026 — just in time for fans craving brutal, street-level action and a revenge fantasy with real emotional weight.
