The end is finally in sight for The Boys. Prime Video has released the official trailer for the show’s fifth and final season, previewing a brutal showdown that could determine the fate of both Supes and humanity.
The new footage centers on the increasingly unstable Homelander, played by Antony Starr, who appears to be searching for a way to become immortal. With the possibility of an early version of Compound V on the table, the tyrannical Supe is determined to secure god-like power — and potentially rule the world indefinitely.
Meanwhile, resistance is mounting. Billy Butcher (Karl Urban) resurfaces with a desperate plan of his own: a virus capable of wiping out every Supe on the planet. The move sets up a final clash between Butcher’s scorched-earth strategy and Homelander’s quest for absolute domination.
The trailer suggests that the world is already under Homelander’s control. Members of the Boys — including Hughie, Mother’s Milk, and Frenchie — appear to be imprisoned in a so-called “Freedom Camp,” while Annie January tries to rally a resistance against the growing Supe regime.

The final chapter will also feature some familiar faces. Jensen Ackles returns as Soldier Boy, and the season includes a reunion of Supernatural alums, with Jared Padalecki and Misha Collins appearing in new roles.
Season 5 brings the long-running superhero satire to a close after its explosive run on Prime Video. The final season is scheduled to debut April 8th with a two-episode premiere, followed by weekly installments leading up to the series finale on May 20th.
If the trailer is any indication, the last chapter of The Boys promises to deliver a bloody, high-stakes battle where no one — hero or villain — is guaranteed to survive.
