Action fans have another high-octane thriller to look forward to as martial arts stars Iko Uwais (Timur) and Lewis Tan (Mortal Kombat II) are set to reunite for Survive the Night, an action thriller from director Keoni Waxman (Contract to Kill). The film also features veteran actor Michael Rooker (Guardians of the Galaxy), Eva De Dominici (Cosmic Sin), Ron Balicki (Force of Execution), Robert Ri’chard (House of Wax) and Teagan O’Hara (Cocaine Island).

Synopsis: After failing to carry out a hit on rival crime boss, Paine (Uwais) is forced to flee town and crosses paths at a train station with Valeri, a mysterious pregnant woman also desperate to escape her violent past. What begins as a shared desire for escape turns deadly when Paine’s former boss and the father of Valeri’s child comes looking for her.

The setup promises plenty of intense action. For action enthusiasts, the biggest draw is the reunion between Uwais and Tan, who previously shared the screen in Netflix’s Wu Assassins and its follow-up Fistful of Vengeance. Both actors have become fan favorites in the genre for their physical performances and combat skills. Uwais remains one of the most celebrated martial arts stars working today thanks to his breakout performances in The Raid and The Raid 2, while Tan has steadily built an impressive action résumé with roles in Into the Badlands and the Mortal Kombat franchise.

Behind the camera is Waxman, a filmmaker best known for his long-running collaborations with Steven Seagal and a number of action-focused thrillers. With Uwais and Tan leading the charge, Survive the Night appears poised to deliver the kind of hard-hitting fight choreography and intense set pieces that genre fans crave.

The project is currently in post-production with a release date coming soon.
