The box office success of the ‘John Wick’ films has created a resurgence in KEANU REEVES’ action star status, and to no surprise the topic of another MATRIX is being discussed.
Despite ‘Neo’ sacrificing himself in 2003’s ‘The Matrix Revolution’ in order to end the war between humans and machines, there is a hint of the eventual return of “The One” when ‘Sati’ (Tanveer K. Atwal) asked in the end of the film “Will we ever see him again?” And the ‘Oracle’ (Mary Alice) replied, “I suspect so. Someday.”
Speaking to YAHOO MOVIES Reeves is definitely game for a fourth ‘Matrix’ but only under a few conditions as he stated:
“The Wachowskis would have to be involved. They would have to write it and direct it. And then we’d see what the story is, but yeah, I dunno, that’d be weird, but why not? People die, stories don’t, people in stories don’t.”
We did get to see a mini ‘Matrix’ reunion in ‘John Wick: Chapter Two’ between Reeves and LAWRENCE FISHBURNE, who plays ‘Morpheus’ in ‘The Matrix’ trilogy. CARRIE ANNE MOSS aka ‘Trinty’ even showed up support the two at the premiere.

After ‘The Matrix’ trilogy, The Wachowskis had a string of duds at the box office including ‘Speed Racer’, ‘Cloud Atlas’, and ‘Jupiter Ascending’. It makes sense for them to return to the franchise that made them successful and bring the whole gang back for one more ride. And when I say “the whole gang” that includes master YUEN WOO PING (Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, Fist Of Legend) and his stunt team along with members of the 87eleven Action Design who were involved with the original trilogy (that includes ‘John Wick’ directors CHAD STAHELSKI and DAVID LEITCH).
Hell, it would be awesome for them to bring back COLLIN CHOU aka ‘Seraph’ as well!
Now lets cross our fingers for The Wachowskis to get crackin’ on that script.
