Director Park Chan-Wook (Snowpiercer) is taking his classic Old Boy (2003) to the small screen.
Park will serve as producer on an English-language Old Boy series in partnership with Lionsgate Television.
The original film follows Oh Dae-su (Choi Min-sik), a man taken off the streets and imprisoned for 15 years who is one day released and given 5 days to find his captor.
“Park is one of the most visionary storytellers of our generation, and we’re excited to partner with him in bringing his cinematic masterpiece to the television screen. This series adaptation of Oldboy will feature the raw emotional power, iconic fight scenes and visceral style that made the film a classic,” said Scott Herbst, EVP and Head of Scripted Development, Lionsgate Television.
