UPDATE: Amazon MGM Studios has locked in production for its highly anticipated Tomb Raider live-action series. Cameras are scheduled to roll on January 19, 2026, with Sophie Turner officially confirmed to star as iconic adventurer Lara Croft.
The project, based on the hit video game franchise, has been building momentum for several years. Prime Video first greenlit the series in May 2024, with Turner’s casting revealed later that November. Development was initially reported back in January 2023, with Fleabag creator Phoebe Waller-Bridge attached as writer and executive producer.
The series will mark a bold new direction for the Tomb Raider legacy, bringing Lara Croft back into live-action for the first time since the 2018 film.
