Gerard Butler (Greenland 2: Migration) is gearing up for another high-stakes action thriller — and the first image from Empire City is already teasing serious danger.

The newly released still offers a glimpse at Butler in the upcoming film, which centers on a hostage crisis that erupts inside New York City’s fictional Clybourn Building. Butler plays firefighter Rhett, who must team with his squad and his NYPD officer wife, Dani (Hayley Atwell), to navigate the building and rescue those trapped inside.

Omari Hardwick is set to portray Hawkins, the film’s primary antagonist, while Mel Jarnson will appear as his right-hand operative. Additional cast members include Tre Hale, Michael Beach, Dominic Bogart, Stephen Murphy, and Jack DiFalco.

Directed by Love and Monsters filmmaker Michael Matthews and written by S. Craig Zahler and Brian Tucker, Empire City is currently in production in Melbourne, Australia.

No release date has been announced yet.
