Jason Statham (The Beekeeper) and filmmaker Guy Ritchie (Wrath of Man) are teaming up once again, returning to the gritty world of British crime cinema for their latest collaboration, Dogfight, a new revenge thriller being developed for Netflix.
Described as a stylish action thriller set against London’s criminal underworld, the film will see Statham back in familiar territory, with Ritchie handling writing, directing, and producing duties. Production is scheduled to begin in the United Kingdom in early 2027.
The project marks the seventh time the longtime collaborators have joined forces, continuing a partnership that dates back to 1998’s Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, which marked Ritchie’s directorial debut and Statham’s first feature film appearance.
The duo followed that breakout success with the crime classic Snatch, before reuniting for Revolver, Wrath of Man, and Operation Fortune: Ruse de Guerre. Their upcoming film Viva La Madness will also mark another chapter in their creative partnership.
Statham will produce Dogfight alongside Ritchie, Ivan Atkinson, and John Friedberg. The film is being developed through Black Bear, Ritchie’s Toff Guy Films, and Statham’s Punch Palace production banner.
While specific story details and additional casting announcements remain under wraps, Netflix is teasing a colorful collection of criminal characters and the kind of stylish action that audiences have come to expect from Ritchie.
The project also marks Ritchie’s first feature film made specifically for Netflix, further strengthening his relationship with the streaming giant. The filmmaker previously found success with The Gentlemen, his crime drama series starring Theo James, which expanded the world of his 2019 feature film.
For Statham and Ritchie, Dogfight represents a return to the British crime territory that helped launch both of their careers. With their shared history of hard-hitting action, sharp dialogue, and memorable criminal characters, the reunion should be welcome news for fans of their earlier collaborations.
No release date has been announced for Dogfight.
