Synopsis: Russell Hatch (Jean Claude Van Damme) is a washed-up, former Interpol operative who vowed to protect the son of an informant killed years earlier in a raid gone wrong. When merciless street gangs start an all-out turf war and the kid is caught in the middle, Hatch will stop at nothing to keep him safe and fight anyone who gets in his way.
The film also stars Kristanna Loken, Emerson Min, Spencer Breslin with Kirk “Sticky Fingaz” Jones and Shannen Doherty.
Darkness of Man arrives on Digital on May 21st.

UPDATE: UFC Superstar Nick Diaz is set to make his acting debut in Darkness of Man alongside Jean-Claude Van Damme.
According to Matt Staudt, the co-founder of Game Up Nutrition (a CBD brand founded by the Diaz brothers), Diaz also had a hand in choreographing one of the film’s fight scene.
Martial arts legend Jean-Claude Van Damme (The Last Mercenary) is set to star alongside Kristanna Loken (Mercenaries) in the action thriller Darkness of Man directed by by James Cullen Bressack (Survive the Game).
Written by Bressack and Alethea Cho from an original story by Bressack and Van Damme, the film follows Van Damme as Russell Hatch, an Interpol operative who witnesses the death of his last informant in a routine raid gone wrong. Years later, Hatch takes on a father figure role to the son of the informant, Jayden. Set against the backdrop of L.A., Hatch finds himself protecting Jayden and his uncle Mr. Kim from a group of merciless gangs led in an all-out turf war. In a resulting fight to survive, Hatch will stop at nothing to protect Jayden and fight anyone getting in his way, including supposed allies with hidden agendas and nefarious intents.
The film also stars Rapper Sticky Fingaz (Blade The Series), Peter Jae (Blackhat), Spencer Breslin (The Kid), Emerson Min (Black-ish), Eric Roberts (Best of the Best), Shannen Doherty (Mallrats), Kris Van Damme (Black Water) and martial arts legend Cynthia Rothrock (Death Fighter).
Production is targeted for early next year in Los Angeles.
