Martial arts star Daniel Bernhardt (Nobody 2) is set to wield the sword as the legendary Deathstalker in Steven Kostanski’s bold reimagining of the Roger Corman cult classic.

Kostanski—director of Psycho Goreman and The Void—takes the helm as writer-director, using practical FX, creature suits, and stop-motion animation to bring this fantasy world to life.

The story follows Deathstalker as he claims a cursed amulet from a battlefield. Marked by dark magic, he’s hunted by monstrous assassins from the dreaded Dreadites. To survive, he must reverse the curse and battle an encroaching evil threatening the Kingdom of Abraxeon.

Voices join the magic too—Patton Oswalt voices the benevolent wizard Doodad, adding a quirky twist to the gritty fantasy.

The film also stars Nina Bergman (Hell Hath No Fury), Christina Orjalo (Astrid and Lilly Save the World), Paul Lazenby (Allegiance), Conor Sweeney (Father’s Day) and John Clifford Talbot (Girl).

Shout! Studios is set to release Deathstalker on October 10th.
