UPDATE: Take your first look at Bill Skarsgard and FKA twigs from The Crow!
Director Rupert Sanders considers this reboot as a tribute to the late Brandon Lee.
“Obviously, it was a terrible tragedy, and it’s definitely something that we’ve always had in mind through the making of the film. Brandon was an original voice and I think he will always be synonymous with The Crow and I hope he’s proud of what we’ve done and how we’ve brought the story back again. His soul is very much alive in this film. There’s a real fragility and beauty to his version of the Crow, and I think Bill feels like he is a successor to that,” Rupert told Vanity Fair.

UPDATE: According to The Crow creator James O’Barr the reboot is still on the fast track despite recent financial and casting problems.
O’Barr stated to COMICBOOK.COM that “It’s still very much a live property. The company, Pressman Films, that owns The Crow film and TV rights, licensed it to a studio named Relativity. And Relativity made like a hundred bad movies and lost money so now they’re in financial trouble. So the producers are just going to take it to another studio if Relativity can’t get backing again. It’s going to happen. I talked to Pressman Films a couple of weeks ago and they said within two or three weeks, we should have it placed at a new studio. Because the day Relativity announced that they were having financial problems, there were like a dozen other studios that called about getting The Crow property. it definitely will happen.”
There you have it. Looks like ‘The Crow’ reboot will come back to life after all.
UPDATE: More trouble have emerged. It does not seem like this The Crow remake will be able to fly any time soon. Pre-production on the film have officially been canceled due to Relativity filing for bankruptcy.
Stay tuned for more details on if this remake will ever see the light of day.

Director Corin Hardy stated: “Jack Huston is unfortunately unavailable to continue with us on ‘The Crow’. ‘The Crow’ is an amazing project, and I am grateful that we have the time and patience to get it right. We look forward to unveiling our new lead and starting to film over the next several weeks.”
The studio is now looking at either Nicholas Hoult (Mad Max: Fury Road) or Jack O’Connell (Unbroken) among a list of potential candidates to take on the role made famous by the late Brandon Lee.
