Donnie Yen’s (Ip Man series) latest film Raging Fire has so far grossed over US $96 million at the China box office since opening on July 30th.
The action thriller also stars Nicholas Tse (Shaolin) as Ngo, a former protégé of Pong (played by Yen) who was pitted against each other.
Raging Fire is Benny Chan’s final directorial effort before he succumbed to cancer last year in August.
While he was involved throughout the filming process, his illness rendered him unable to edit during post-production (although there were photos of Chan reviewing footages while sitting in his hospital room last year).
The film is produced by Emperor Pictures, Tencent Pictures and Super Bullet Pictures.
Raging Fire is now playing in US theaters, distributed by Well Go USA and in Hong Kong on August 19th. Check out the Well Go USA link for US theater listings and showtimes.
