Martial arts superstar Tony Jaa (Striking Rescue) is set to headline an untitled “Muay Thai Trilogy”, an ambitious China-Thailand co-production. The films will be financed by Stars Collective and Thailand’s Film Odyssey Co. Ltd.

Veteran filmmaker Yuthlert Sippapak (Friday Killer) will direct all three films in the trilogy. Sippapak, the founder of Film Odyssey, will also serve as a producer alongside Stars Collective founder Peter Luo (Malignant) and co-CEO Nancy Xu. Jaa is attached as an executive producer on the project.

Blending Thai history, culture, and high-octane action, the trilogy follows Suriya (played by Jaa), a gifted fighter who is mysteriously transported back to the Ayutthaya period. As he hones his skills, he must protect the king from an assassination plot while grappling with the potential consequences of altering history. His ultimate challenge is not only to save the kingdom but also to find a way back to his own time.

Production details, release plans, and additional casting announcements are expected in the coming months.
