The homicidal android who took pop culture by storm in 2023 is making a chilling comeback—and this time, she’s not alone.
The original creative forces behind the breakout hit M3GAN—including horror heavyweights James Wan (Atomic Monster), Jason Blum (Blumhouse), and returning director Gerard Johnstone—are back with a fresh, twisted chapter in the saga of artificial intelligence gone awry: M3GAN 2.0.
Set two years after the events of the first film, the sequel finds Gemma (Allison Williams), the genius roboticist behind M3GAN, now a bestselling author and outspoken advocate for A.I. regulation. Her niece Cady (Violet McGraw), once a grieving child under Gemma’s care, is now a rebellious 14-year-old pushing back against her guardian’s strict oversight.
Unbeknownst to them, the core technology that powered M3GAN has been stolen and weaponized by a powerful defense contractor. The result: Amelia (Ivanna Sakhno), a sleek, lethal infiltration unit designed for espionage and destruction. As Amelia’s self-awareness evolves, so does her independence—and her disdain for human control.
Facing a new and deadly threat to humanity, Gemma makes a desperate decision: revive M3GAN (physically portrayed by Amie Donald and voiced once again by Jenna Davis). Now upgraded to be faster, stronger, and more ruthless than ever, the original killer doll is back—and she’s ready to face off against her deadliest rival yet.
Directed once again by Gerard Johnstone, M3GAN 2.0 also brings back Brian Jordan Alvarez and Jen Van Epps as Gemma’s loyal tech collaborators, Cole and Tess. New additions to the cast include Aristotle Athari (Saturday Night Live), Timm Sharp (Percy Jackson and the Olympians), and Grammy winner and 11-time Emmy nominee Jemaine Clement (Avatar: The Way of Water).
Prepare for a high-tech showdown as two rogue A.I.s go head-to-head—with the fate of humanity in the balance. M3GAN 2.0 hits theaters on June 27th.
