UPDATE: Nathan Fillion (Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.3), Isabela Merced (Sweet Girl) and Edi Gathegi (Caged) has joined the cast of James Gunn’s Superman: Legacy!

Fillion will portray Guy Gardner’s version of the Green Lantern, Merced will play Hawkgirl, and Gathegi as Mister Terrific.

UPDATE: DC Studios has found it’s new “Man of Steel”. David Corenswet (Hollywood) has officially been cast as Superman in James Gunn’s Superman: Legacy. Actress Rachel Brosnahan (The Blacklist) will be joining him as Lois Lane.

DC’s head honcho James Gunn (Guardians of the Galaxy franchise) took to social media to announced that he will officially direct Superman: Legacy.

From a script written by Gunn, the film will follow Superman’s journey to reconcile his Kryptonian heritage with his human upbringing as Clark Kent of Smallville, Kansas. He is the embodiment of truth, justice and the American way, guided by human kindness in a world that sees kindness as old-fashioned.

Superman: Legacy is targetted to be released on July 11, 2025.
