As a proof-of-concept/pitch reel to help raise funds for a feature length film, director TRAN QUOC BAO have put together an impressive martial arts short titled THE CHALLENGER.

Film Description: A young Kung Fu fighter, eager to make a name for himself, challenges his hero in an underground match. Starring MARTIAL CLUB’s ANDY LE and KEN QUITUGUA of ZEROGRAVITY STUNTS, THE CHALLENGER is the prequel for an upcoming full-length feature film.

Bao is no stranger to martial arts films as he have been mentored by one of Hong Kong’s finest in COREY YUEN, the man responsible for a handful of martial arts classics such as ‘Fong Sai Yuk’ starring Jet Li, John Woo’s ‘Red Cliff’, and most recently the Wong Fei Hung prequel ‘Rise Of The Legend’.

Bao is also the man behind the editing for the Vietnamese actioner ‘Bui Doi Cho Lon’ aka ‘Chinatown’ starring Johnny Tri Nguyen. He definitely have a great eye for martial arts action and it clearly shows in ‘The Challenger’.
