UPDATE: Rakuten, Inc., a global leader in internet services headquartered in Tokyo, will be forming a partnership with The H Collective to provide financing for xXx 4.

The H Collective CEO, Nic Crawley stated: “I couldn’t be happier to be strengthening our relationships in Asia by partnering with Rakuten – which is one of the most exciting companies in the world.  Having them invest in Brightburn, our first global release and xXx 4, is a sign of their commitment to film investments. Japan is a fantastic market, ripe with distribution opportunities given the rising quantity of cinema admissions. These are just the first steps in our new business relationship.”

UPDATE: Taiwanese superstar Jay Chou (The Green Hornet, Now You See Me 2) will be joining Vin Diesel in the 4th installment of the xXx franchise! Also joining in on the fun is former Taekwondo champion Zoe Zhang (Railroad Tigers), who made her debut alongside Jackie Chan in 2012’s ‘Chinese Zodiac’ aka ‘CZ12’.

Chou expressed his excitement stating: “I’ve met DJ (Caruso) a number of times over the past few months and it’s very clear how talented he is as a director. I am looking forward to working with him and Vin in bringing this film to global audiences. This is an incredibly exciting film which I’m beyond happy to join.”

Stay tuned as the rest of the ‘xXx’ crew will soon be announced.

UPDATE: We got confirmation from the man himself DONNIE YEN (via Instagram), that he will NOT be returning for the upcoming sequel. Yen stated:

It is a shame since Yen’s ‘Agent Xiang’ was the obvious stand-out of the film. But hey, lets look on the bright side as Yen has plenty of exciting projects lined up including the live-action adaptation of the video game ‘Sleeping Dogs’ and the action thriller ‘Crossfire’ directed by Benny Chan. In addition, the martial arts superstar just wrapped his highly anticipated return as ‘Wing Chun’ master ‘Ip Man’ in ‘Ip Man 4’.

As for who will potentially replace Yen and fill in those kung fu shoes to draw in the Chinese audiences? Our best guess is none other than current China box office king Wu Jing (Wolf Warrior 2). Reports has been swirling that Vin Diesel and Jing is working together on an untitled project. Could this possibly be the next adventure of ‘xXx’? Read more about it by CLICKING HERE.

UPDATE: The H Collective has officially acquired the rights to the ‘xXx’ franchise. Production is set to start on the fourth installment in December 2018 with D.J. CARUSO once again at the helm.

Expect official confirmation on the return of the original cast soon.
